A successful cybersecurity analyst II at Starbucks is collaborative, organized, and able to work well with direction from senior analysts and technical product managers. You should have strong critical thinking skills, excel with technical writing, and have experience in cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance (GRC) or a related cybersecurity domain. This position reports to the manager of cybersecurity governance within the Global Cybersecurity Services (GCS) organization. GCS is chartered with leading, inspiring, and supporting Starbucks to cultivate trust in our brand by ensuring confidentiality, integrity, & availability in every partner, customer & supplier experience.

This position will support our ongoing governance tools lifecycle process. You will be responsible for gathering, documenting and assessing policies, standards, controls, procedures and configurations across our governance tools architecture and common controls framework. An effective analyst will develop subject matter expertise across the GRC and GCS portfolio by collaborating with functional experts and stakeholders to understand and document our data and technology landscape. As you develop subject matter knowledge, you will support the design, development, and delivery of new technology and governance tools for stakeholders across the company.

Success in the role will be the delivery of well-written, globally integrated cybersecurity policies, standards, controls, procedures and configuration baselines. Multiple stakeholder groups rely on the effective delivery of clear and concise documentation across the cybersecurity organization.

Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing will differentiate the successful candidate. This position models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

As a cybersecurity analyst II governance, you will…

  • Support development of cybersecurity governance tools from policies to control procedures by gathering requirements from senior analysts and leadership, drafting documents and revising based on executive feedback while ensuring all feedback and changes are traceable through the document lifecycle.
  • Assess and recommend changes to governance tools through regular reviews and monitoring to ensure consistency, accessibility and coverage in a rapidly evolving business, technology and regulatory environment.
  • Document and steward records for new and existing security controls which are critical inputs to risk assessments, system security plans and compliance services.
  • Enjoy working on an energetic, fun team with demonstrated ability to work in an increasingly self-directed manner to drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science or related field or 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to support successful outcomes in projects and activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with matching systems to business needs.
  • Experience creating documents in support of systems.
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office product such as Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of business processes and process improvement.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Applicable application of systems development concepts.
  • Production support, system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancement delivery experience - - End user support and documentation experience.
  • Ability to apply knowledge, sound judgment, and resourcefulness to support the design and deployment of global technology solutions.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
