This role contributes to Starbucks success by delivering and supporting Vulnerability Management technology solutions. This role will be responsible for the design and deployment of technology and process solutions, establishing key business capabilities enabling the realization of strategic initiatives and operational improvements.

A successful Senior Vulnerability Management Analyst is a communicator and an investigator. This role will communicate all manner of system and application vulnerabilities to inform patching/fix decisions and velocity for engineers and executives. You will understand perspective on questions and contextualize answers through the lens of cybersecurity, referencing SMEs as needed. You will intuitively know the available dataset and can efficiently dig through data to articulate priority, and shepherd technology owners to success.

As one of the key faces for Vulnerability Management, you will have incredible insight to design a revolutionary approach leveraging the latest technology to quickly analyze and contextualize data at scale. In this role, you will surface trends in data and provide analysis to relevant stakeholders to identify and solve Starbucks most pressing vulnerability management issues.

You will advance threat-informed vulnerability management by leveraging a mix of internal and external vulnerability and criticality sources, including CVE and CVSS. Framed by a detail-oriented approach to reporting, you will apply data science practices to broad swaths of data from roasting to retail, globally.

As a Senior Vulnerability Management Analyst, you will…

  • Track communication and status with multiple stakeholders across all mediums including email, instant messaging, and meetings. Responding quickly and thoroughly to issues and requests with correct technical information.
  • Create and update reports and ad hoc queries for identified target audiences, ensuring the right information is available to the right person to effectively inform decision making and remediation.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in cybersecurity and know when to escalate vulnerabilities as a global priority. Acting with urgency while modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles and values.
  • Drive requirements for growing and changing data management and reporting platforms.
  • Perform application configuration and maintenance (i.e. create attributes, workflows, and UI changes) in support of solution delivery initiatives.
  • Gather, analyze, and document solution requirements. Facilitate user story creation and backlog grooming in an agile delivery environment.
  • Be self-directed; are successful with minimal direction from more senior analysts providing escalation when necessary.
  • Create and maintain systems documentation (e.g. Wiki, Knowledge Base Articles). Develop and facilitate system training for internal and external audiences.
  • Provide constructive input and perspective to team conversations.
  • Partner with requirements, including SOX, PCI, and internal controls.
  • Able to lead small streams of design/work.
  • Provide 24*7 global support of critical systems and services.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or 3+ of relevant experience.
  • Apply knowledge of business principles and technology practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional activities.

  • Generate comprehensive documentation in support of systems.
  • Exhibit exceptional oral and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel proficiently.
  • Apply a deep understanding of business processes and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide top-tier customer service.
  • Implement systems development concepts effectively.
  • Proven working knowledge of systems development lifecycle and IT operations.
  • Ability to use business knowledge, sound judgment, and resourcefulness to design and deploy highly reliable and sustainable technology solutions.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Configuration knowledge of relevant applications/modules/platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience with data modeling and design patterns with experience presenting to internal leaders.
  • Highly experienced in GraphQL, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, and SLA-based reporting to leaders.
  • Ample experience in system analysis, troubleshooting, and project management that allows prompt detection and resolution of system issues.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
