TD Securities, the wholesale trading subsidiary of TD Bank is seeking a motivated and high-performing individual to become a strong contributor in its dynamic technology organization. This senior Business Systems Analyst will report into the head of the Global Equity Derivatives Solutions group. This is a prominent and complex role that will require the individual to interface with finance, operations, risk management, front-office and other technology teams regularly.

Job Description

The role is comprised of (but not limited to) leading the efforts of a wide variety of initiatives including technical platform upgrades, onboarding new product types for trading, L3 support to resolve pricing/valuation issues, design and implementation of esoteric risk metrics associated with key regulatory initiatives (FRTB) for Equity Derivative products.

The candidate should effectively leverage and extend the current TDS GED technology platform which includes a variety of in-house developed applications and services and the vendor product Sophis. The GED Solutions group is involved with the GED Business from front-to-back from Sales and Trading to settlements and financial and regulatory reporting and everything in-between. This role has a strong emphasis on being adaptable and responsive and is very hands-on.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Contribute and drive the end-to-end delivery of applications and paradigms for the Global Equity Derivatives business with clear emphasis on strategic and synergistic planning, schedule management, scope, change / issue management
  • Execute and assist in design and development of a strategic trading platform
  • Perform implementation and assist with development work on the Sophis software system or other in-house solutions
  • Interpret, design and construct risk and P&L metrics (including vega topographies, gamma ladders, spot/volatility metrics, and correlation sensitivities of both simple and exotic equity products) that will be used by traders, quants and risk managers
  • Design and test middleware between Sophis or associated BoR system and the in-house analytics library
  • Scale the performance of the quant library (cloud, GPU, dependency pricing)
  • Design and maintain a high-performance, scalable pricing service for the valuation of Equity Derivative products using APIs and dependency graphs which automatically triggers valuation upon any dependent market data change.

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience supporting derivatives trading operations from front to back
  • Strong knowledge of Equity derivatives product offering and the associated risk profiles
  • 4+ years of experience working with quantitative development team on integration of new features or products using quantitative model/pricing library.
  • Experience in managing delivery, support, and executive expectations
  • Understanding of Software Engineering and Software Development (emphasis on CI/CD, dev lifecycle)
  • Ability to evaluate and implement new technology developments
  • Experience in implementing vendor cross-asset trade processing platforms (Sophis experience is a plus)
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, relationship management and influencing skills
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to influence and achieve consensus
  • Financial acumen and the ability to conduct complex analysis and detailed reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to explain and present concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike
  • Executing queries, building use-case scenarios for business requests and small enhancements

The VP TDS - Tech Solutions is accountable for day to day management of a team of IT professionals (including both permanent and contract resources) in supporting assigned business clients / internal partners / stakeholder needs and requirements. May be involved in negotiating technology costs and scope in forecasting, planning process with subset of business clients within an overall Segment CIO or within a key technology Functional area.

Depth & Scope:

  • Key role involved in negotiating technology costs and scope in forecasting, planning process with subset of business clients within an overall Segment CIO or within a key technology functional area
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of assigned business and bank technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications, platforms, services) and managing people / projects
  • Knowledgeable of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own business
  • Responsible for managing multiple teams and/or projects with increasing degree of complexity and broad scope (e.g., multi-function within line of business)
  • Works independently and often autonomously in the management of projects, teams and operational disciplines and develops strategic thinking/ planning in the execution of work plans with a short to medium term business perspective
  • Manages system enhancements, new releases or projects typically focused on a specific product/application of moderate scope and complexity
  • Manages/Leads a group (e.g., Less Than 25) of IT professionals (e.g., developers, analysts, specialists, administrators and project managers)
  • Orchestrates the development of resolutions, plans and strategies for operational advancement
  • Generally reports to Sr. Manager or Executive role

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • Graduate degree, preferred
  • 7 - 10 years related experience
