Job Description:
A Senior Business Analyst, Road to Strong and within the Run My Business Journey, will primarily be focused on analytics and reporting initiatives surrounding the high cash and high risk transactions within the Business bank. The Senior Business Analyst will have an integral role in de-risking and risk mitigation of the Business Banking book.
The senior business analyst will support the analysis of escalations and work with the Product Owner to identify and implement efficient and effective operational, risk-adverse solutions. The candidate will need to operate in a fast-paced, multi-objective environment, utilizing their knowledge of products and Business Banking processes to seek out efficiency and support Business banking initiatives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support the business internally as a specialist of a given area in AML matters
Provide recommendations on AML investigations
Support and understand risk identification, risk analysis and risk mitigation according to the regulatory requirements and industry best business practices
Provide trend analysis and reporting of AML findings with recommendations to uplift controls
Integral knowledge of the enterprise sub-function's and/or business line's overarching strategy in developing solutions across multiple functions/operations
Interpret control policies to determine whether additional risks are present, recommend course of action
Use analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify solutions, while providing reasoned and logical context
Work autonomously as the lead and guide others within area of expertise
Review and challenge issues, risks and mitigation plans captured, documented and managed by delivery teams
Identify, document and investigate processes / exceptions arising from transactions beyond 1st level operations service delivery and resolve escalated matters and refer complex issues / situations beyond own level of expertise
Establish and provide analysis and reporting on operational performance of the businesses with respect to AML related transactions
Assist in managing an effective, on-going AML surveillance program designed to detect and mitigate regulatory violations and breaches of internal policies and procedures
Complete filings and/or reporting to regulators and/or law enforcement agencies as required, for Management review and approval
Lead projects to successfully implement program and policy changes

Comply with applicable internal and external audit and regulatory requirements and may actively participate in Audit Reviews, providing recommendations and guidance as required
Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree preferred
3+ years relevant experience
