Job Description:

Supporting the TD Insurance AI2 team (Analysis Insights and Artificial Intelligence) by testing web applications developed for internal use.

Day to day, you'll be the point of contact for all business acceptance testing activities in an agile development setting.

As a Data Scientist – Business Acceptance Testing, you will:

  • Review business requirements and design documents to create test cases with detailed steps and expected results with a high degree of accuracy
  • Execute test cases and document actual results, with a high degree of accuracy for system test phase adhering to timelines
  • Log defects and assist in resolution process as required
  • Provide support to business teams for business testing as required
  • Build relationships and work collaboratively to identify solutions and resolve variance from product/application specifications
  • Participate in or develop test strategies/plans, traceability matrices and test closure reports, for small to medium complexity projects
  • May provide day-to-day support for test environments, trouble shooting, triaging issues and coordinating resolution with all technology partners.
  • Ensure timely notification of issues/problems and make recommendations for issue/problem resolution
  • Promote and develop awareness of testing methodologies and standards
  • Ability to work in agile work environment and willingness to support other team members if needed
  • Strong willingness to develop adequate business acumen to fully support testing of insurance reporting created for business users
  • Ability to develop solid understanding of the data pipeline on the cloud

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Three (3) or more years relevant experience
  • Advanced experience of programming languages such as Python, SQL
  • Experience with big data tools, such as Databricks, Hadoop and Hive
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills (ability to interact with staff at all levels of the company)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize work across multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment (Agile)
  • Ability to innovate by challenging the status quo and think outside the box
  • Passion in analytics with a customer-first mindset
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, team player with high energy and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of products and of the Insurance market are an asset
