Pay Range

The pay range for this position is between $90,000.00 – $180,000.00.

Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.

Position Purpose:

Online Data Architect teams at The Home Depot coordinate with key stakeholders to determine data collection needs and write technical specs to support the translation of business requirements into databases, data warehouses, and data streams. They work closely with engineers to ensure the internal customer’s data needs are captured. They analyze, plan, and define data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, and master data. Data Architects create and implement data management processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

The Online Senior Data Architect position manages complex processes related to the development of advanced analytics to support the company's strategic objectives. The role works cross-functionally with business partners from Merchandising, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Online and IT to design and implement data analytics, tools, and new visibility/reporting capabilities. This role has responsibility for creating analytics, translating business questions to actionable insights, supporting ongoing analytical needs, designing new analytical platforms, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality analytics solutions for the Home Depot. They are considered seasoned experts in one or more analytical domains and serve as a deep analytical resource for the Decision Analytics team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 55% – Data Analytics – Analyzes large volumes of data and leverages data analytics tools to create new dashboards, reports and any additional ad-hoc requests, using a wide variety of database applications / analytical tools /languages including GCP BigQuery, SQL, SAS, R, Python, Jupyter Notebook, Adobe Analytics, and Tableau.
  • 10% – People Management & Team Leadership – Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams in an efficient manner to effectively execute analytical projects or processes.
  • 20% – Project Management & Team Support – Provide leadership, mentorship and coaching to team members (individual contributors) and evaluate performance, execution, and contribution.
  • 15% – Solution Development – Collaborate with stakeholders, business partners, colleagues, developers, and business analysts to deliver high quality analytics solutions.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • 4 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in a quantitative field (Analytics, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Statistics, etc.) or relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated expertise on database architecture frameworks
  • Demonstrated expertise on procedures for increasing database accuracy and accessibility
  • Demonstrated expertise on how to develop requirements for the business's data needs related to databases, data warehouses, and data streams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the business to support stakeholder data needs
  • Proficient writing specs and requirements and configuring Adobe Analytics for site tagging
  • Proficient utilizing GCP Big Query, Mini Tab, Workfront, and SQL
  • Experience supporting the infrastructure for clickstream data (social media impression data on the marketing side), so teams can pull for data products and insights
  • Experience problem solving to translate a request into the capturing needs, criteria involved, and variables involved
  • Experience managing multiple projects and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions; ability to understand and foresee implications of new information for current and future problems solving.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to persuade, inform, and influence others based on findings. A track record of taking complex results and communicating them in an easily understood way.

Remote/virtual – An associate in a remote/virtual role typically is not required to work from a designated Home Depot location to complete their job duties. Limited or infrequent in-office presence may be required. We also refer to this as location – independent.
