POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Anthropology at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Research Professor position.
Responsibilities include working with Dr. Mary Shenk on projects involving the study of marriage, fertility, mortality, parental investment, and inequality both in South Asia and cross-culturally. Applicants should have the following
The ability to conduct complex literature reviews, including finding and organizing theoretical, historical, and ethnographic reference materials.
Experience in coding cross-cultural datasets including primary ethnographic materials.
Experience in coding qualitative interview data. Familiarity with evolutionary theoretical approaches and/or foundational texts in anthropology and related fields would be useful.
Candidates must have completed a PhD by the time of appointment.
