Job Description

The Fraud Risk Analyst provides support and service to our business partners while remaining agile. Responsible for managing, monitoring and coordinating fraud strategy telephony integrations projects for credit, debit and commercial card products. Performs data analysis to identify data anomalies, trends, problem solve and make recommendations. May analyze data to determine loss impact on any given product and determine multiple risk management strategies. Responsible to collaborate with internal staff and vendors. Critical to the candidate’s success is strong SAS/SQL programming skills, and fraud domain expertise. The position relies on the individual to be an initiative-taker, results driven, comfortable preparing reports and presentations, and can effectively communicate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business partners
  • Conduct root cause analysis
  • Perform analysis using SAS, SQL, R, Python, or similar programming language to tie data from multiple sources together and identify emerging fraud trends
  • Perform ad hoc analysis, recommending opportunities for enhancements
  • Track and monitor projects, data and metrics
  • Provide actionable information when problems arise
  • Respond to unexpected events and findings
  • Ability to conduct an analysis of business need and/or define and maintain complex process flows as needed, leading meetings, planning agendas, and conferring with business line leaders
  • Effectively project manage while anticipating stakeholder needs and outcomes
  • Adhere to team standards, compliance and regulatory items, passing all audits
  • Seek process improvement paths leading to greater efficiencies and reduce fraud/expenses
  • Meet assignment deadlines
  • Ability to remove barriers and enable team to meet objectives, while being professional and adhering to processes
  • Own vendor issues, collect impacts, track and communicate outcomes

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Seven to ten years of risk management experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Extensive data analytics experience preferably in the financial services industry
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Flexible and a tolerance for ambiguity
  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, but also independently
  • Ability to build cross-function relationships, even in a remote environment
  • Experience facilitation skills
  • Familiar with User Acceptance Testing
  • Experience in gathering business requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and organization abilities
  • Strong project management skills
  • SAS, SQL, Toad or Python experience
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications and data analysis software
  • The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days
