Job Description

This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products
  • Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
  • Researching and recommending tools and technologies to enhance automation coverage across multiple application tiers.
  • Building and maintaining scalable and reusable automation frameworks.
  • Conducting bug reporting, performance monitoring, and root cause analysis.
  • Performs analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements
  • Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures
  • Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices
  • Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards
  • Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation
  • Designing and implementing test strategies across UI, API, and backend layers
  • Leading and mentoring QA teams
  • Driving automation best practices and coding standards
  • Collaborating with DevOps and development teams for seamless CI/CD integration
  • Managing test coverage, risk analysis, and release readiness
  • Evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining automated systems across both UI and backend layers.
  • Previous experience building scalable and reusable test automation frameworks to support cross-platform and cross-browser testing.
  • Automation Tools experience in : Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, Appium (for mobile), Postman (for API testing)
  • Experience in Programming Languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#
  • Framework experience in : BDD/TDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber), custom test automation frameworks
  • CI/CD Integration: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps
  • Version Control: Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
  • Cloud & Containerization: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes (for scalable test environments)
  • Performance Testing: JMeter, Gatling, or k6
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Allure, TestRail, Grafana, Kibana
  • No-Code/Low-Code Tools: Testim, Katalon, or similar platforms
  • Experience Leading and mentoring QA teams
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, Problem-solving and analytical thinking

Location Expectations

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $133,365.00 - $156,900.00
