About the Role

Rider engineering team develops Uber's flagship rider app and powers hundreds of features across all our product vertical teams.

We're looking for passionate iOS engineers to join the Rider Core team, a cross-functional group in which Design, Data Science, Backend, Android and iOS engineers work collaboratively to design and build products for riders to simplify their booking journey, work on enhancing tech platforms and improve reliability of various core product offerings.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

1. Design and build high-quality iOS features across product and platform surfaces
2. Collaborate with backend, design, data, and product partners to deliver end-to-end solutions
3. Contribute to mobile architecture, performance, and reliability improvements
4. Write well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code and design reviews
5. Serve as a go-to engineer for breaking down ambiguous problems into clear technical tasks

---- Basic Qualifications ----

1. 5+ years of experience developing iOS applications using Swift and/or Objective-C
2. Strong understanding of iOS frameworks, app architecture, and mobile design patterns
3. Experience shipping and maintaining large-scale consumer-facing mobile applications

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

1. Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms applied to mobile development
2. Experience collaborating closely with backend teams on API design and system integration
3. Familiarity with experimentation, analytics, and performance optimization on mobile
