Postdoctoral Associate or Research Associate
University of Colorado Boulder
Job Summary
Serve as a laboratory researcher for CHIPS 2d and Wide Band Gap (WBG) Materials Reliability Project, performing analysis of 2D and WBG materials using scanning probe microscopy (SPM). Specific SPM modalities include scanning microwave impedance, contact resonance, sub-resonance tapping, and scanning kelvin probe microscopy. High throughput, automated characterization methods will be developed. Samples will be prepared using established methods or acquired directly from collaborators. Individual will analyze results and integrate them into reports, publications and talks. Results will be integrated with other efforts in the project to provide unified guidance on characterizing reliability in these materials.
This position is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) Professional Research Experience Program (PREP). NIST recognizes that its research staff may wish to collaborate with researchers at academic institutions on specific projects of mutual interest and thus requires that such institutions be the recipients of a PREP award. The PREP program requires staff from a wide range of backgrounds to work on scientific research in many areas. Employees in this position will perform technical work that underpins the scientific research of the collaboration.
