Position Summary | This position works as part of a team to utilize industry-standard tools and best practices to develop, operate, maintain, and monitor Linux and Windows systems, services, and infrastructure in both a VMWare ESX and a data center environment. This position, along with other System Administraors in the college, is responsible for many core services for Franklin College including, but not limited to, file and print services, software licensing servers, and website hosting servers and infrastructure. This position automates, manages, monitors, and troubleshoots servers and the applications running on them. This position works in collaboration with other systems administrators, IT professionals, instructional technology professionals, and web developers to provide, maintain, and support core, instructional, and research services for faculty and staff within the college. In addition to strong technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess knowledge management and leadership skills as this position will serve as a technical lead and mentor for colleagues. This position also involves strong communication and interpersonal skills as it interfaces with colleagues and management to document, troubleshoot, and communicate about incidents and workflows. |
