Duties/Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
Provides basic to intermediate-level mechanical repairs on transit buses as assigned by the supervisor.
Percentage of time 50
Duties/Responsibilities
Remove and replace broken components on diesel/electric buses as assigned by the supervisor.
Percentage of time 20
Duties/Responsibilities
Complete assigned work orders and submit them to the supervisor for approval. Complete all necessary training as required.

Ensure work progress is approved before starting the next task.

Minimum Qualifications
Position Summary
Troubleshoot and conduct routine repairs to fleet vehicles. Perform limited maintenance repairs on transit buses within safety and manufacturer’s specifications.

Candidates should submit to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with USDOT regulations.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Demonstrated ability to maintain heavy-duty diesel vehicles, troubleshoot and repair complex systems such as electrical and electronics systems, climate control systems, diesel engines and transmissions. Ability to use computers for diagnosis, parts look-ups and other tasks.

The successful candidate will provide their own tools.

Heavy lifting, work in confined spaces, stooping, kneeling, standing on ladders and work platforms will be involved.
