Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree. Familiarity with University of Georgia technology systems.
Position Summary
Full managerial responsibility of the Athletic Association’s computer network including infrastructure design and security. Design, implement and maintain networking and security infrastructures designed to support efficient communications and access to information across multiple locations and cloud services. Manage recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluation of all related personnel.

  • Research and recommend technology solutions designed to enhance user productivity.
  • Experience in design, implementation and maintenance of networking and security infrastructures designed to support efficient communications and access to information across multiple locations and cloud services

Research and recommend technology solutions for the Athletic Association:
Design, implement and maintain networking and security infrastructures designed to support efficient communications and access to information across multiple locations and cloud services. Spend time researching and developing new, innovative technologies for next-generation services for the Association. Explore options for addressing current issues or service gaps by reaching out to campus or other Universities; discussing methods, technologies, and processes they have used to knowledge-share and/or collaborate on solutions. Engage in Customer Service-centered improvement process to regularly assess services and processes to identify opportunities for service enhancements or replacements. Develop and maintain frameworks to guide innovation and improvement cycles. Develop and maintain systems for disaster recovery to ensure business continuity.

Develop, propose and implement IT strategic plan in collaboration with the Director of IT – Client Services. Relay strategic plan to senior executives.

Manage the technical operations and projects of UGA Athletics IT.
  • Plan projects, assign tasks, track progress on projects and service delivery.
  • Provide recommendations for technical implementations into athletic facilities, technical infrastructure and upgrades, and any other technical scenario where project management is required
  • Coordinate activities of the teams and ensure that operational goals are met in a timely fashion.
  • Guide, direct and encourage increased efficiency, continual improvement, creative solutions and collaboration within UGA Athletics.
  • Provide direction and supervision for members of UGA Athletics IT.
  • Guide the development, maintenance, and enforcement of relevant UGA system and network standards.
  • Guide, direct and encourage increased efficiency, continual improvement, creative solutions and collaboration within UGA Athletics and campus partners as needed.
  • Manage and Maintain system documentation.

Maintain central enterprise servers used to support the business and administrative functions of the Athletic Association. Provide executive information systems used for decision-support.

Manage recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluation of all related personnel. Monitor staff evaluation processes to ensure they are fair and completed in a timely fashion. Recommend appropriate merit increases and incentives. Manage all personnel activities including disciplinary actions, promotions and reclassifications. Assist in informing the correct personnel in any changes that occur to policies and procedures with respect to supervised areas.

Manage IT Operations and Infrastructure budget development and implementation. Ensure all invoices are submitted in a timely manner. Provide IT event support periodically at various athletic events. Assist with other duties as assigned.
