Due to the nature of the work, this employee is expected to be onsite at the TEEC during working hours. Monday – Friday 12:00PM – 9:00PM or Monday – Thursday 10:00AM – 9:00PM

Work hours will be coordinated with a peer IT Professional, a Facilities professional and a supervisor to meet the needs of the TEEC. Hours will be flexible during the week and occasionally on weekends. Applicant must be flexible to work weekends and mornings as needed and scheduled.

Position Summary
The position is based at the Terry Executive Education Center (TEEC) in Atlanta, located at 3475 Lenox Rd NE, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30326.

The Audiovisual Technical Professional supports the daily operations of the Terry Executive Education Center (TEEC), a 33,000-square-foot facility in Atlanta’s Buckhead business district. This space includes 4 large classrooms, 2 large event spaces, and meeting spaces ranging from 6-person team rooms to a large Executive Boardroom. This position ensures the effective functioning of audiovisual (AV) systems, provides end-user IT support, and facilitates seamless execution of academic programs, executive education, special events, and hybrid learning experiences.

This role combines AV and light IT duties, requiring a hands-on professional with a solid technical foundation in desktop support, software troubleshooting, network basics, and end-user assistance. The position supports faculty, staff, students, and executive clients with a focus on minimizing downtime, ensuring a polished technical experience, and maintaining the high standards of the Terry College brand.

This position collaborates with faculty and departments to design, implement, and support instructional technologies. It involves maintaining and repairing integrated video/audio/data classroom systems and related analog and digital instructional technologies. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving issues related to computer hardware, software, supporting Windows and Apple operating systems, peripherals, and network devices used in UGA classrooms. The role also serves as a contact for room management systems and involves knowledge of installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and proficiency in desktop hardware/software support and network troubleshooting.

Job functions include cross-training on facilities and event management and all other activities necessary to maintain high-level operation of the facility. This position will support internal stakeholders, external customers, students, faculty, and other visitors that are part of the Terry College Community.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Set up audiovisual equipment, including additional support AV tools like equipment racks.
  • Set up and install media equipment such as LCD projectors, speakers, TVs, video monitors, and cameras.
  • Run video, audio, and signal testing.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust the AV system.
  • Operate and troubleshoot sound and video.
  • Use objective analysis to spot issues and eliminate them before an event.
  • Enthusiastic individual who can follow instructions and work well with a team while installing video, lighting, and audio systems.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn audio/video editing tools such as Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, OBS, Audacity, DVD Studio, etc.
  • Set up and run the sound and video equipment used to conduct live events such as meetings, business conventions, and panelist events.
  • Play video recordings, coordinate graphics, run PowerPoints, record audio/video, direct video by switching cameras, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in IT problem-solving skills, intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of PC and Apple hardware and software support, and intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of presentation systems, data/video projectors, audio/visual equipment, control systems, and distance learning technology (video conferencing).
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the facility.

Classroom AV and Technology support
  • Daily monitoring and support of classroom and event space AV systems (on-site and remotely).
  • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain AV equipment such as projectors, microphones, sound systems, and video conferencing tools.
  • Provide real-time event support, including camera switching, audio mixing, and multimedia display setup.
  • Installation of UGA A/V systems to include coordination with system owners and other units such as EITS (Enterprise Information Technology Services).

  • Serve as a point of contact for light IT support at TEEC.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure smooth technology integration for instruction and events.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 1 IT issues, including software errors, printer issues, connectivity problems, and login/authentication errors.
  • Support desktop/laptop configuration and maintenance for both PC and Mac environments.
  • Assist with the installation of software, configuration of email clients, antivirus maintenance, and driver installation.
  • Coordinate with central IT (EITS) for escalated issues or enterprise-level troubleshooting.
