Assistant Coach, Director of Video & Technology, Men's Basketball

Job Summary

Manage and oversee all instructional film components of the men's basketball program.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Video Coordination & Basketball Analysis –
    • Oversee production of instructional material for student-athletes including management of game footage-shooting and editing for evaluation and instruction of coaching staff and team
    • Coordinate with coaching staff/player personnel to organize and produce scouting tapes for recruiting purposes
    • Manage film exchange program
    • Assist with offensive playbook database and video library
    • Direct and manage video staff including coordinating staff schedules, hiring and select staff members and evaluating work
    • Maintain Synergy database and work with coaching staff on using for scouting and recruiting purposes
    • Assist Director of Basketball Strategy & Analytics with Fast Draw scouting database and scouting reports
    • Assist Director of Basketball Strategy & Analytics and Director of Player Personnel with recruiting database buildout and updates
  • Technology –
    • Manage technology in Ubben including computers, televisions, and building video/TV system.
    • Work with Sports Technology on infrastructure and hardware maintenance throughout Ubben complex
    • Manage Synergy, Hudl, Playsight, NOAH and FastDraw softwares and any other technology related services for men’s basketball program and Ubben Basketball complex
    • Assist Sports Technology with all support and infrastructure in Ubben basketball complex
  • Recruiting –
    • Identify, evaluate and recruit qualified prospective student-athletes to participate in the program, and successfully promote the academic and athletic programs;
    • Assist in the coordination official and unofficial visits; and
    • Represents the program in off-campus recruiting activities when necessary and permitted.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Required - Bachelor’s Degree Experience: Required – At least two years prior experience working with a college or professional basketball team

Preferred Qualifications

Education:
Preferred – Master’s Degree

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • • Maintain knowledge and compliance with NCAA, Big Ten and DIA rules related to this position • Knowledge of HUDL editing system, Synergy, Playsight, NOAH and Fast Draw software
  • Championship Mindset and Expectations Understands and displays professionalism and integrity that builds and maintains trust between student-athletes and fellow DIA staff; Prioritizes and contributes to the life changing student-athlete experience; Adheres to University, DIA, Big Ten, and NCAA rules and regulations; Commitment to the Athletics Department and University’s mission and values; Flexible to various scheduling to include nights, weekend work and some holidays, team travel; and Maintain professional competency and skills required for professional practice.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 8/1/2025. Salary is commensurate with experience. The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000.
