Join our team! Enrollment Management Shared Service is accepting applications for a Data Analyst. The Data Analyst is an entry- to mid-level position responsible for supporting and advancing Enrollment Management (EM) operations through three core areas: Data Integration & Automation, Data Requests, and Reporting. This role is essential to ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuity across EM’s data-driven activities.

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience with SQL and Excel, along with a developing understanding of data architecture that enables them to take on projects with growing independence. In addition to technical expertise, the analyst will serve as a technical consultant on EM projects and systems—contributing to discussions, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping shape solutions. Over time, the analyst is expected to demonstrate greater initiative, lead projects to completion, and become a trusted resource for technical guidance within the office.

Duties & Responsibilities -

Data Integration & Automation

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to facilitate seamless integration between various internal and external systems, including the University's ERP (Banner), CRM (Slate), and other EM systems. This includes loading external data files such as applications and test scores.
  • Act as a technical consultant for organized efforts within EM to support the ERP, CRM, and other EM systems.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve processes, working with internal applications and vended solutions to enhance data and process integrity, improve features and performance, and minimize bugs and glitches.

Data Requests

  • Fulfill internal and external data requests, providing ad hoc reports to EM's supervisory staff, colleges, departments, and other external campus entities.
  • Ensure all data provision is in compliance with FERPA regulations and other confidentiality requirements.
  • Assist the Director with conducting annual security access audits and ensure all active users are compliant with FERPA training and confidentiality documents.

Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and improve reports and dashboards utilized by EM, colleges and departments, and other external campus entities.
  • Provide end-user data and reporting support.

Required Qualifications -

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of work experience in IT‐related functions such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
    • College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline may be substituted as follows:
      • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year
      • Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months
      • 90 semester hours equals two years
      • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three years.
  • Demonstrated experience with SQL and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

Preferred Qualifications -

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field.
  • At least two years of progressively more responsible work experience in a data analysis, software development, or similar technical role OR a role focused on data usage and functionality within an Admissions & Enrollment Management CRM system (e.g. Slate).
  • Demonstrated experience with Slate's operational functionality and using its data for reporting and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with Excel.
  • Extensive experience in developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL queries and stored procedures, particularly with tools like SSMS.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python for scripting and automation tasks.
  • Experience with MS SQL server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard tools like Power BI.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities -

  • Higher education knowledge.
  • Familiarity with data integration processes (ETL) and tools.
  • A foundational understanding of cloud services and modern data warehousing, such as those within the Azure Data platform (e.g., Data Factory, Azure Functions).
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for executing queries and understanding existing stored procedures.
  • A demonstrated desire to learn and grow in the field of data analysis, including acquiring skills in programming languages like Python and data visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Competence in Excel and Office 365.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical ideas to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a high-performance team environment.
  • Actively participate in meetings and discussions to contribute to a suitable communication environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service and user experience.
  • Be reliable and work efficiently, using time effectively to meet promised deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
  • Possess innovative problem-solving abilities and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and anticipate problems, evaluate alternative solutions, and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to work with increasing independence, take initiative to drive projects to completion, and become a go-to resource for technical matters.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The budgeted salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000/year. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
