Organizational Summary Statement:
The University of Maryland is implementing a new student information system called Workday Student, as part of the Elevate Student program. In light of this transition, the Graduate School seeks a highly skilled professional to provide comprehensive support in Workday configurations, testing, training, and data validation specifically for the graduate student domain. Reporting to the Graduate School’s Workday Functional Lead, the Workday Analyst will serve as Cross-Functional Lead for the Graduate Student Domain and participate in multiple workstreams with other members of the Elevate team and stakeholders from across the university, ensuring effective collaboration and successful outcomes. This position is integral to Elevate Student’s Graduate Team, which includes the Graduate School’s Workday Functional Lead, other Workday Analysts, and Huron consultant, and will be based within the Graduate School.
This contractual exempt position is funded through June 2027 with potential for extension.
This position is telework eligible.
Preferences:
Education - Master’s degree
Experience
At least two years of experience supporting graduate education, preferably at UMD
Experience using UMD campus systems (e.g., SIS, TerpEngage, uAchieve) and/or Workday Student
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Thorough understanding of the graduate student life cycle, UMD graduate policies and practices
Ceaseless and exquisite attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills; must be able to maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across campus
Demonstrated ability to manage a high level of activity under various conditions and constraints
Analytical abilities and critical thinking competencies to support unique problem-solving
Licenses/Certifications: N/A
Physical Demands:
Office environment setting with majority of time spent working at a computer. Required close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer terminals, extensive reading. Ability to move about campus to attend meetings/events.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in information technology.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

Knowledge of business analysis principles and system support practices.Skill in problem-solving and troubleshooting.Skill in working with enterprise systems, databases, reporting tools, or integrations.
Skill in organization and documentation.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a collaborative environment.
Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to analyze data, processes, and system functionality.
