Job Summary
The Department of Family Medicine seeks candidates for a Clinical Information Analysis Senior/Intermediate position to support routine operational analysis and special projects. Responsibilities include data review and entry, directed data clean-up and analysis. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have a service-oriented attitude. In this position, you will work closely with department project and finance managers and other administrative staff to update, organize and input data. Some of the data handled is protected health information (PHI) and sensitive in nature, proper handling will be key to compliance as well a professional expectation when handling for any administrative task. This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities*
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data to identify opportunities to improve the cost and quality of department work. Primary focus will be faculty compensation, including but not exclusive to: inpatient and outpatient professional fees; administrative appointments; and exception time trends.
- Develop design specifications and work with technical staff to assist with development and testing of production reports and information systems.
- Prepare reports and conduct analyses of faculty FTE and various appointments within the health system among the tripartite missions.
- Possesses and applies knowledge of measurement and analysis to the completion of well-defined assignments (monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to support leadership decision making).
- May receive guidance to define relevant measures and analytical methods from Finance Manger and Chief Department Administrator.
- Provide complex administrative support to department project and financial professionals as it relates to faculty data.
- Design, build and maintain a Leadership report for quarterly reporting.
- Investigate, evaluate, and provide interpretation of data for departmental leadership, which will require multiple levels of data detail and require multiple models (micro to macro views).
- Respond and furnish ad hoc reports and modeling, for various scenarios as requested by department CDA, Chair and other department leadership.
- Perform specialized data analysis and modeling services for diverse data requests.
- Review, model, and analyze department patient services, and report relative to breakeven scenarios.
- Prepare return on investment (ROIs) modeling and projections on new or existing novel clinical practices, could be specialized services and procedures offered by faculty the department.
- Access MiChart Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to customize and run needed reports.
- Partner with administrative staff, lead and direct the maintenance of faculty CV updates in Elements. Lead validation and maintenance of faculty bio-sketches.
- Participate in team meetings, assist team members, provide backup coverage for other administrative positions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in a recognized field which is directly related to the duties of the position
- Experience in healthcare setting.
- Understanding of direct patient care dynamics and the role and use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Experience with handling sensitive data in compliance with rules and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (functions, data modeling, pivot tables, etc).
- Demonstrate comfort and mastery with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, Websites and databases.
- Demonstrate ability to set priorities, handle multiple assignments, work collaboratively with team members, and meet competing deadlines.
Senior level: At least 5 years of experience in analyzing and interpreting process, clinical outcomes and costs of care.
Intermediate level: At least 3 years of experience in analyzing and interpreting process, clinical outcomes and costs of care.
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience in direct patient care using and documenting in an electronic medical record.
- Has knowledge of or experience in the delivery of patient care needed to perform the duties of the position.
- Experience in healthcare research support with an awareness of various compliance rules and regulations.
- Use of Microsoft web platform SharePoint.
- Use of Tableau Creator software, data visualization tools and dashboards.
- Knowledge of UM policies and procedures.

Background Screening
