Job Summary

The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12-story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care; a state-of-the-art neurosciences center; and high-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000-square-foot hospital which also features 20 surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities. The anticipated opening of the new D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is fall 2025.

You will support activities to maintain the current environment and activities to leverage our investment in enterprise tools and mobile technology. You will provide production support for all technologies related to supply chain functions, as well as collaborate with operational teams and customers to formulate system objectives and projects to implement new functionality. Responsibilities*

  • Respond and follow up on technical help tickets submitted by users via ServiceNow.
  • Provide IT support for PeopleSoft, GHX, Syft, and a variety of other applications used internally.
  • Independently investigate and implement solutions to technical issues.
  • Identify recurring technical issues and propose solutions to address the root problems.
  • Assist in routing incoming requests to the appropriate team member.
  • Oversee device inventories and deployment of new critical devices.
  • Serve as a point of contact for IT-related vendor services and ensure appropriate access to systems is regularly audited and maintained.
  • Assist with enrolling new users for Supply Chain related mobile applications, troubleshoot technical issues, while optimizing enterprise systems.
  • Update clients on current issues for additional information.
  • Escalate and partner on the resolution of network and system-related technical issues and request to tier three infrastructure and ERP application teams.
  • Provide on-call and off-hour support when necessary.
  • Develop and document system and business requirements using standard templates and forms including but not limited to process flows, test scripts, testing scenarios, and standard work instructions.
  • Function as a lead to identify, plan, and execute major projects focusing on implementation of new technologies and/or interfaces between clinical and supply chain systems.
  • Document and deliver system training to operational staff and customers as part of project implementations or while investigating/resolving abnormalities in data or system functions.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving/troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; effective communication with non-native speakers of English.
  • Other responsibilities or support for other Michigan Medicine hospitals as required.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3- 5 years of experience with ERP and/or EHR data systems including system and interface configuration, robust testing activities and successful implementation.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, Visio, Access, MS Project, and advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software.
  • Significant experience developing flow charts, business process maps, standard work instructions, and system testing requirements and scenarios.
  • Experience in successfully implementing technological solutions including advances in software utilization, interfaces, and mobile technology.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and innovation in solving customer problems while improving business processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all phases of Software Development lifecycle.

Desired Qualifications*

  • 5 years of experience in health care supply chain environment.
  • Experience with installations, upgrades, patches, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Supply Chain related mobile technologies including handheld PCs and server supported printing technologies.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management platforms, such as Workspace ONE and Intune, is a plus.
  • Experience working with financial, operational and clinical data and systems.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Supply Chain Management modules especially Purchasing and Inventory Management.
  • Experience in a University or professional role managing an external vendor relationship requiring technical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Proven application of LEAN problem-solving tools.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and configuring mobile printers, label formatting, connectivity (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth), and knowledge of updating firmware.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues on iOS and Android mobile devices, including app performance, connectivity, and device provisioning.
  • Knowledge of barcode scanning technologies and integration with supply chain systems.
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation for device setup, troubleshooting guides, and user training materials.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday 8a-430p including on-call and off-hour support on a rotating schedule.
