| Position Summary | The Clinical Research Assistant is responsible for oversight of archival laboratory samples for TPF business partners and clinical research trials; including knowledge of trial-specific requirements, interactions with vendors, sample acquisition, processing and shipping, and maintaining supplies. The Clinical Research Assistant is also responsible for support of live tissue acquisition and specimen distributions. These responsibilities relate to the mission of the UNC LCCC in providing support for our translational research partners, and support of the translational research pipeline. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Working knowledge and facility with information technology; ability to acquire and apply knowledge from study and review of defined sources; ability to follow instructions; ability to collect, record, and document information; ability to review information for completeness and accuracy; ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing. Ability to coordinate work with others and contribute to a team environment. |
| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Experience with processing and shipping laboratory samples, experience with data extraction and case report forms, experience with coordinating meetings. Preference for Stem or analytical degree set. Background in Clinical Research/Protocol, knowledge of medical terminology, Oncology Clinical Trial terms specific. Comfortable with viewing Hospital Surgical Settings, patient surgeries. |
