| Position Summary | The Division of Healthcare Engineering (DHE) within the Department of Radiation Oncology at the School of Medicine – UNC Chapel Hill is currently recruiting a Research Assistant to support several practical and research initiatives broadly related to quality improvement, patient safety, and human factors engineering; and the conduct of research related to these initiatives. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for understanding the vision of DHE practical/research domains and using this knowledge to communicate practical/research findings to engineering and solution owners. Responsible for collaborating with other members of the DHE team to solve complex system design and implementation challenges and understand the end-user requirements at each stage of the project. Collect, interpret and analyze the data to validate the success of the implementation efforts. Present and communicate findings to project teams and stakeholders. The position is open to a variety of research specializations within Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, and Human Factors Engineering. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Experience with Lean, Six-Sigma, and Change Management practices will be essential to align with UNC Health culture. Must be detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills. Team player with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. |
