| Position Summary | The UNC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a temporary research technician to work in McLendon Core Laboratory at the University of North Carolina. This position supports the analysis of biospecimens for the NIH Nutrition for Precision Health Study Metabolomics and Clinical Assay center. The successful candidate will be able to support specimen handling, tracking, storage and result review. The position will follow established protocols for the analysis of samples, maintain accurate records and coordinate other student volunteers contributing to the project. Flexible work hours outside of Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM are possible for analysis of specimens during off hours (particularly weekends or evenings) and encouraged. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |
| Management Preferences | Previous experience with handling biological specimens, ASCP certification |
