The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery is in search of a Research Engineer.

This position assists with brain image and brain metabolic profile from clinical trials data involving Parkinson ' s, Alzheimer ' s and repetitive head injury patients. Assists with the development of conceptual project design and instrumentation, software programs, and data processing methods and involve in using KALPANA packages and others for MR spectroscopic data (PMID: 31584232; 21515011) ( https://doi.org/10.1002/cmr.a.20072). Assists with conducting imaging-based research. Conducts laboratory procedures, develops software/methodology for analysis and patent. Coordinates work of students and Pl. All work will be conducted on-site only. Efficiency in MATLAB coding is required. Assists with data collection using MRI instrumentation, including developing, evaluating commercial resources, methods and materials, implementing algorithms, creating software, and investigating new approaches and technologies. Assists with conducting research, including setting up, calibrating, maintaining research records, conducting clinical trials with well-designed protocols and report generation. Develop software for analysis and comparative. Coordinates work of /researchers/students/interns as directed.

Minimum education to be considered for this position is a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering/Bioengineering or ECE.
