Clinical and Implementation Research Coordinator

Housed within the Department of Medicine Center for Research on Health Care, CONVERGE is a multidisciplinary, collaborative research center focused on advancing sexual and reproductive health equity through innovative research, policy analysis, and community partnerships. CONVERGE is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator III to oversee research and evaluation related to the statewide implementation of a smartphone app and other intervention-based research projects to support maternal health and wellbeing. Experience in human-centered design, and qualitative research design, collection, and analysis strongly preferred. Experience managing teams of designers and developers strongly preferred. Background in research, social work, and human-centered design is ideal.
• Prepare grant applications, perform literature reviews, and prepares manuscripts for publication; write research papers and assist with writing complex papers.
• Oversee and prepare IRB applications.
• Review/audit research studies; assist with next step determination.
• Monitor study budgets and expenditures. Maintains and orders supplies as needed.
• Draft Protocols and assess protocol feasibility; establishes protocol-specific recruitment plans. Train staff on study protocols.
• Train staff and oversees the work of student workers as directed. Coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Communicate effectively with study participants and potential community recruits. Facilitate human-centered design workshops with community members and community-based organizations; Identify and lead community education opportunities.
• Facilitate research/project team meetings with university staff and faculty, as well as with state and other project stakeholders.
• Resolve complex data collection issues.
Job Summary
Prepares grant applications, manuscripts, Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, research papers, and assists with complex research papers. Audits research studies, monitors study budgets, resolves complex data collection issues, and implements protocol-specific study recruitment plans. Trains staff and oversees student workers; leads team meetings. Monitors study budgets and orders supplies.
Requires the ability to visualize a computer screen, to work with computer hardware and software, to communicate verbally and in writing, and to use a phone. The candidate must have strong working knowledge of English.
Position is mostly sedentary work.
