An Ophthalmic Research Associate position is available in the Clinical Trials section of the University of Pittsburgh, Ophthalmology Department. Minimum of 3 years of Ophthalmology experience, preferred 2 years of Clinical Research experience.
COA or minimum of 3 years Ophthalmology
Job Summary
Conducts research assessments on study participants. Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Assists with training staff. Ensures adherence to protocols and corrects issues with data collection.
· This individual is responsible for providing chairside patient assistance and retrieving all pertinent information needed for principal investigators to complete study protocols. Completes ophthalmic imaging in accordance with study protocols, uploads and process data as requested by sponsor and principal investigators. Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions. Ensures adherence to protocols and addresses queries with data collection.
· Can be certified as the BCVA technician on department trials.
· Proper and timely submission of ancillary work within the department.
· Oversees and assists with preparation of IRB submissions.
· Reviews/audits research study documents and assists with next step determinations.
Must be able to assist patients in and out of exam chair.
