The Birru Talabi Research Lab, situated in the Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh, strives to help people with autoimmune diseases to have healthier lives, healthier pregnancies, and healthier families. Our team engages in high-impact NIH-funded projects that are reconceptualizing standards of reproductive healthcare delivery for people with autoimmunity as well as other chronic medical illnesses that are associated with adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcomes. Our principles are rooted in reproductive justice and cultural humility. We are currently in an accelerated growth phase, with multiple grants and projects including:
- NIH Center Leadership in maternal health research;
- INTREPID study, which assess impacts of reproductive health policy related to people with chronic diseases
- RESPOND study, to assess impact of reproductive health policy related to people with autoimmune diseases
- Reproductive Experiences in Autoimmunity (REINA) patient registry, which collects longitudinal data from women with autoimmunity as they progress from reproductive age to menopause
Job Summary
Oversees the entirety of research projects in a program, including financial administration. Develops plans and success measures. Contributes toward program goals and development. Develops budgets, information management strategies, and procedures.
This position is created as a lead position in the Birru-Talabi lab to function in support of, and if necessary, in place of, the Director. The candidate must have demonstrated academic lab/department leadership. They will be responsible for clinical lab management.
Must be able to use a PC; sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; carry items no heavier than a ream of paper.
