The High Throughput Genomics Core (HTGC) is hiring a full-time Laboratory Research Technician IV to join multidisciplinary team. HTGC is a high-throughput, industrial-scale nucleotide sequencing and mass spectrometry multi-omics facility located in Pittsburgh, PA. The facility is certified as a CAP CLIA facility that generates clinical grade data; adherence to strict standard operating procedures and quality control and quality assurance practices is required. The ideal candidate has prior experience in clinical accessioning, sample processing, and molecular testing including Illumina based sequencing. The incumbent will handle a variety of human biofluids including but not limited to blood, plasma, urine, saliva, swabs, stool, and tissue-derived samples using validated SOPs for biomolecular extraction and processing in a high throughput manner. The position requires the use of end-to-end information management software, robotic automation, and multiple technology platforms for clinical testing and research. Effective communication within and between team members and ability to move between multiple high complexity tasks within the same day is routine. Cross training in mass spectrometry-based sample processing and instrumentation will be required. Some evening and weekends are required.
Job Summary
Performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments. Analyzes and interprets data, compiles results, and prepares reports. Maintains inventory, ordering, and logs. Writes manuscripts and grant proposals and prepares data visualizations.

Walking to and from locations within hospital. Standing for long periods of time at the bench. Reading small print on tubes, cryovials, and labels. Lifting up to 30 pounds. Bending and lifting to put away supplies.
