HERL is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II to coordinate multiple research studies related to assistive technology for people with disabilities. The responsibilities include assisting with the development of clinical protocols, conducting subject testing, subject recruitment, monitoring study implementation, and data management. It is also critical that the coordinator ensure compliance with University and VA Pittsburgh Healthcare Systems Institutional Review Boards (IRB) policies and procedures. This requires the coordinator to be knowledgeable of current regulations and remain up to date as regulations or requirements change in order to effectively train students and communicate with staff and faculty. For assigned research studies, the coordinator is responsible for all IRB correspondence and for conducting internal audits to monitor compliance, for coordinating between multiple study sites, for assisting in human subject testing which includes subject recruitment, preparation for testing, subject testing, and data management. In addition, the coordinator is responsible for daily office tasks such as ordering supplies, filling, photocopying, and maintaining organized records and documentation. Occasional travel to other study sites for data collection may be required.
A bachelor’s degree in a rehabilitation science field, engineering, or a related STEM field is strongly preferred. Incumbent must successfully complete a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs background check.
Job Summary

- Maintains databases in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to all applicable protocols and regulations.
Light. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally. Work is largely performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
