Assistant Director, Clinical Research Operations

The Multidisciplinary Acute Care Research Organization (MACRO) within the Department of Critical Care Medicine, is seeking an Assistant Director, Clinical Research Operations. This managerial position is responsible for directing the implementation of multiple study sites, directing multiple projects across varying timelines, using established and newly developed procedures at new enrolling clinics and surgical sites, related training, troubleshooting, and developing recommendations. Workforce management duties include but are not limited to study site service management, workload assignment, performance and training management, data collection, recruiting, forecasting, and analysis.
Position requires the ability to regularly travel within and outside of Oakland to study sites. Incumbent will be required to perform on-call duties 7-10 days per month.
Job Summary
Manages the administrative aspects of the department, including budget and financials, and oversees all clinical research activities and trials. Assists with operational and strategic planning. Crafts clinical research grant proposals and subsequently oversees administrative and financial functions of sponsored projects.
Position requires the ability to make independent decisions regarding study operations. Must be able to work at a computer using multiple software programs and make frequent visits to various ICUs and other campus locations to facilitate enrollment in research studies.
The incumbent must be able to stand for extended periods and walk for extended distances. No heavy lifting required.
