Research Technician

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neuroscience is seeking a part-time Research Technician to support Dr. Dylan Hale's lab. The Research Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory experiments and technical procedures, in accordance with established protocols and specifications. The role includes preparing, processing, and identifying specimens; operating, maintaining, calibrating, and testing laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality and sterility; and managing laboratory supplies through ordering, procurement, inventory tracking, and receipt of materials. The Research Technician will also maintain accurate, organized, and timely records of experimental data, results, and laboratory logs.

Incumbent must be able to ambulate across building complex and University campus; Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time; Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
