Laboratory Research Technician IV

This position supports advanced laboratory research activities within an academic research environment. The role requires a high degree of independence, strong problem-solving skills, and technical expertise in experimental design, data collection, and scientific analysis. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in an academic or biomedical research laboratory and demonstrated ability to support complex, multi-aim research projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently perform and coordinate animal-based experimental studies related to fibrosis models, including routine handling, monitoring, and tissue collection in accordance with approved protocols.
- Support complex molecular and cellular laboratory workflows through sample preparation, processing, and data generation across multiple experimental aims.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of experimental procedures, samples, and data to support reproducibility, analysis, and internal and external reporting.
- Provide oversight of day-to-day laboratory operations, including reagent preparation, inventory management, and routine equipment maintenance.
Job Summary
Performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments. Analyzes and interprets data, compiles results, and prepares reports. Maintains inventory, ordering, and logs. Writes manuscripts and grant proposals and prepares data visualizations.
-Perform independent and complex laboratory experiments, including determining experimental protocols and preparing specimens and cultures.
-Analyze and interpret experimental data; compile results; prepare written reports and summaries.
-Maintain laboratory, specimen, and chemical inventories and ordering systems.
-Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely data records and laboratory logs.
-Prepare data visualizations, graphs, tables, and charts to support publications and reports.
-Must be comfortable handling mice in accordance with approved protocols.
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use a computer and laboratory equipment, and perform repetitive hand movements associated with laboratory procedures. May occasionally lift or move light laboratory materials.
