$19.96 - $27.94The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:Provides routine technical support for research activities and/or laboratory support. Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet specialized needs. Assists with the design of new experiments, multimedia sampling, maintenance, operation and calibration of scientific monitoring equipment for research projects. Responsible for general data collection and assists with analysis, recruiting participants. May support and assist other technicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs simple to moderate technical procedures and behavioral experiments and experiments according to specific instructions and protocols when initiating and conducting research experiments. Manages data and
- databases.
- Maintains records, reports, and inventory. Administers experimental protocols. May assist with the development of research protocols, including literature reviews. Performs general data collection during research studies. Records experimental data. Collects/tabulates/calculates data. Prepares solutions.
- Assists with purchasing routine lab supplies, collects receipts, and monitors expenditures. Installs, maintains, and repairs general equipment. May design modifications and fabricate mechanical or electronic equipment.
- May provide general support and supervision of lower-level technicians. Works closely with staff to understand the principles of compliance, confidentiality, and other ethical obligations involved in conducting research.
- May assist faculty and students in the use of equipment. Administers experiments as needed and provides analysis and interpretation of results as appropriate.
- Keeps current with industry standards, best practices, and trends in health
- sciences. Attends/participates in weekly lab meetings, and, as appropriate, institutes and seminars.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree in Health Science, Biology, Chemistry or other science related field of study preferred.
- 1 year of experience performing basic sampling, monitoring, or research activities; compiling and collecting data and preparing reports required.
- or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and scientific methods required.
