Compensation Range:

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides support for the ABCD study team teaching, training, and consulting specifically for study participants who report being at risk. Prior experience with teens and knowledge of NY state regulations concerning mandatory reporting is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains communication via zoom, phone call, or in-person at the research site with the ABCD team when a mental health alert occurs. Emergent situations can occur after hours or on weekends and cell phone/text communication with the team is critical. Consulting will occur with an ABCD research assistant and will discuss the next steps to take with a family/youth should endorsements of suicide, homicide, or abuse take place. This role will act as a consultant who reviews the results of the KSADS exam should a high level endorsement be made. In this circumstance, this role would do a risk assessment with the ABCD research assistant and participant to determine next steps. If/when necessary, this role will implement a safety plan that has been created by responsible clinician. . The role will have variable hours (between 2-10 hours per week) and include day, evening, and weekends.
  • Timely reporting of incidents in accordance with NYS regulations.
  • Attends monthly meetings with the ABCD team to discuss situations involving mental health alerts. Trains research staff members on the protocol of what to do should a clinical endorsement be made based on a self-reported exam. Teaches research staff members about the laws and regulations as they pertain to circumstances of clinical endorsement with minors in NYS.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bacehlor’s degree required.
  • Master's Degree in Social work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology or closely related field preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Particular consideration will be given to individuals whose work has relevance in health/clinical psychology and application to adolescents preferred.
  • LMSW – Licensed Master Social Worker upon hire preferred.
