Job Description
The Department of Community and Population Health at the University of Tennessee is seeking highly motivated applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will carry out an active program of research, secure external funding in support of research, teach in PhD, DNP, and/or BSN programs, advise doctoral students, and mentor students in research. The UTHSC embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care, and institutional service, and responsibilities will include these missions. Academic rank is commensurate with academic experience.
Research/scholarship activities as well as service responsibilities, will be determined in collaboration with Department Chair.
Qualifications
- Earned doctoral degree from an accredited university.
- Evidence of scholarship including publications, presentations, and grant funding is required.
- Active engagement in appropriate professional organizations is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Departmental Preferences:
- Documented high-quality didactic teaching experience in a PhD or graduate program is desired.
- Preference will be given to candidates who hold a board certification/licensure where applicable (i.e. RN, APRN, MD, RD).
- Preference will be given to candidates who are Nurse Scientists.
- Preferences will be given to candidates whose research interests fall into the following categories: Stroke, Rural and Underserved Care, and Sickle Cell Disease.
- Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
