About the UVA Health Program Management Office:
- Coordinates the execution of the largest and most critical efforts of the UVA Health
- Tracks and reports on the progress of a portfolio of projects to the UVA Health Medical Center Cabinet
- Ensures that the UVA Health projects are delivered in scope, within budget, and in keeping with the priorities set by the executive leadership
The Business Analyst Intern assists the PMO team members with all things project management, including team decision-making, day-to-day operations, developing new systems and workflows, and influencing the department's long-term direction.
Responsibilities will include:
CONSULT
Coordinate between division directors by:
- Contacting executives directly to collect feedback/input on departmental change
- Synthesizing feedback into concrete changes in workflow and reporting
LEAD
Hone your leadership skills by:
-Running training workshops on the PMO-related process
-Developing necessary training workshops for new procedures that are introduced
BUILD
Drive departmental progress by:
- Providing accurate reports & estimates of project milestones and completion dates
- Shaping new department-wide processes & procedures to increase organizational efficiency (e.g. Time Tracking, Change Management)
CONDUCT
Recurring responsibilities of the IT PMO Intern include:
- Utilizing relevant technology such as Tableau and Visio to produce high-quality status updates and workflow charts
- Scheduling meetings and publishing meeting minutes to relevant parties
- Creating training documentation & videos for new practices
- Maintaining the Project and Portfolio Management system at an administrator level to ensure effective data collection, optimization of resource allocation, and effective reporting

- By working in the UVA Health PMO, you will have extensive exposure to all the various positions and responsibilities of roles in the four main divisions and the opportunity to pursue more in-depth assignments related to your interests.
The UVA Health PMO is looking for a capable UVA student who:
• Has strong interpersonal and analytical technical skills (problem-solving/research skills, etc.)
• Is self-motivated, eager to contribute and learn, and brings a strong sense of initiative
• Easily conceptualizes both the “bigger picture” and how more detailed technical endeavors contribute to the whole
• Has an exceptional work ethic and is energized by team success
• Preferred: Has completed an Associate Consulting Internship at a consulting firm or has similar work experience
• Preferred: Is a rising third or fourth-year
Provides coordination and support for Programs.
Develops and maintains information systems including databases electronic files and websites.
Develops implements and maintains effective and professional office practices and procedures.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience: 2 years relevant experience
Licensure: None required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
