Jobs in this group are typically responsible for managing and operating laboratory facilities used for research, teaching, or to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of disease. They ensure equipment maintenance, adhere to safety protocols, and support quality control.

These roles involve the study and analysis of tissues at the microscopic level to diagnose diseases, research medical conditions, and understand biological processes. Prepare, stain, and examine tissue samples, providing critical insights that support clinical diagnoses and scientific research.

Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through advanced education, training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory technologist jobs. ​

Requires advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools through extensive work experience and require vocational or technical education. ​ Works under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily operations.​ Trains, delegates and reviews the work of lower-level employees. ​ Problems typically are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.​

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Clinical education in a Histology Technician School (HT) program accredited by NAACLS or the minimum required for HTL(ASCP)
Experience: 1 year experience in a Histology Laboratory.
Licensure: ASCP or equivalent certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 – 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The starting base rate for this role is $34.37 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
