The Allen School occupies two spectacular buildings — the Paul G. Allen Center and the adjacent Bill & Melinda Gates Center — located at the heart of the UW campus in Seattle. The Allen School is seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Robotics Lab Coordinator to join our talented and passionate Facilities Team under School Services. The Robotics Lab Coordinator will fulfill critical programmatic lab functions and provide hands-on technical support for the Robotics faculty, graduate students, staff, and research staff in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering. The person in this position will help establish and maintain high-quality customer service for the Robotics Lab under the School’s branding, providing consistency and professionalism as a coordinator for the School. Working under general supervision, this highly customer-oriented position will independently perform tasks, resolve problems and respond to inquiries, drawing on specific administrative programmatic knowledge of the Allen School and the University of Washington. As a member of the Facilities team, this position will be supervised by the Robotics Lab Director and work closely with Robotics faculty and students, as well as the Facilities Team in support of the Robotics Program. Robotics hosts a diverse array of talks and small events throughout the year, including open houses, research presentations, Robotics demonstrations, and other events. The Robotics group is composed of 6 faculty members, 35 graduate students, and several research postdocs. The Robotics Coordinator will support the research and instructional efforts of this collaborative group. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, exceptional communication skills, strong proficiency with admin systems and software, strong technical skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to exercise good judgment, and value diversity which is central to the Allen School.
