Are you passionate about turning data into actionable insights? The University of Washington’s central IT organization, UW Information Technology (UW-IT), is hiring a Reporting Analyst to join our Reporting Development Team. You'll play a critical role in supporting UW's Workday reporting operations across HR, Payroll, and Finance.

About the Role:
As a Reporting Analyst, you’ll work at the intersection of data, technology, and user experience. Your focus will be on understanding user needs, analyzing business requirements, and delivering high-quality Workday reports and dashboards. You'll help drive data-informed decisions across the UW community—improving student success, instruction, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and document reporting needs across multiple Workday functional areas

Serve as the liaison between users and developers—translating needs into clear requirements

Conduct quality assurance reviews and user testing

Manage incoming requests and tickets in UW Connect

Support sprint planning, report migrations, and Workday release updates

Requirements:
  • Three years’ experience in business analysis, project coordination, requirements elicitation, and report/analytics development.
  • Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities.
  • Ability to represent, promote technical reports.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and productivity navigating any reporting data domain or subject area.
  • Expertise in maintaining harmonious working relationships and effectively addressing complex and sensitive administrative issues.
  • Experience with using discretion and independent judgment effectively in decision-making processes.

    Desired:
  • Experience conducting business analysis in a complex business environment.
  • Functional knowledge of Finance data domains.
  • Experience designing or building Workday reporting solutions.
  • Experience working with SaaS infrastructure, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Experience in Higher Education administrative systems management, including Human Resources, Payroll, or Financials.
