POSITION PURPOSE UW Medicine's mission is to improve the health of the public by advancing medical knowledge, providing outstanding primary and specialty care to the people of the region, and preparing tomorrow's physicians, scientists and other health professionals. UW Medicine owns or operates Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center, UW Medicine Primary Care, UW Physicians, UW School of Medicine (SoM), Airlift Northwest, and other owned, operated or affiliated entities as appropriate. In addition, UW Medicine shares in the ownership and governance of Children's University Medical Group and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (a partnership among UW Medicine and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research). The Business Analyst (payroll title: Program Operations Analyst) will play an integral role in managing operational details of the clinical departmental funding process and effort reporting. Under the general direction of the Director of Planning and Analysis, Office of Faculty Business Planning, this position will be responsible for detailed reporting and providing analyses related to the UW Medicine Clinical Departmental Funding Process. This position will play a key role in managing the new Mission Advance faculty effort-tracking system as well as emerging needs for frequent and regular reporting to departments and UW Medicine executive leadership. The Business Analyst will be required to work independently in seeking information from a variety of internal UW Medicine resources, and external entities for on-going assignments and special projects. This position involves multiple and rapidly changing daily work priorities/deadlines in a dynamic environment. The Business Analyst will work closely with the SoM clinical departments, medical center staff, and other UW Medicine staff. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SoM Programs Financial Planning and Analysis – 50% Departmental Funding Process and Reporting –50% CORE COMPETENCIES MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.
