UW Medicine Enterprise Revenue Cycle (ERC) has an outstanding opportunity for a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Business Analyst Intern

WORK SCHEDULE

  • This is a limited term appointment expected to last approximately 6 months

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    UW Medicine Enterprise Revenue Cycle (ERC) is made up of numerous shared services departments and is accountable for the Revenue Cycle functions of University of Washington Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center with close collaboration with Faculty Practice Plan Services.

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly growing field of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the healthcare revenue cycle management space
  • The role will work closely with automation requesters, impacted application analysts, and the assigned RPA developer to gather requirements, document as-is (current state) and develop to-be (future-state) processes as well as facilitate quality assurance testing of the automation solutions prior to deploying to production

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define and document business cases for automation requests, including clear business needs, alignment to strategic objectives, benefits, and KPIs
  • Learn to identify and analyze business processes for automation
  • Create current (as-is) and future state (to-be) process flows in Process Definition Document (PDD)
  • Learn to prepare and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the quality and functionality of automation solutions
  • Track progress of UAT, including managing defects and enhancements
  • Fosters relationships with community leaders and elected officials, representing UWMC in interactions with UWM leaders, King County, the State of Washington, and other community entities
  • Prepare UAT report
  • Ensure that all documentations related to automation request through development are complete and stored in the appropriate repository
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of any SharePoint list, Document Library, Microsoft Power Apps (e.g., Power Automate, Power BI)

    REQUIREMENTS
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree in Business (Management Information Systems), Computer Science/Computer Technology, or related field
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint – Sharepoint , Outlook, Teams, Zoom
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving ability, strong writing and grammar skills
  • Sharp attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible and work within a team environment
  • Experience with MS Office and Power Applications
