Job Duties:

This staff member will be in charge of participant recruitment, data collection and some administrative tasks for a new NIH-funded R61/R project examining the impact of a computerized cognitive training for improving symptoms of obsessive-compulsive related disorders. Participants who endorse symptoms of obsessive-compulsive and related disorders will be recruited from the community. Data to be collected include MRI, clinical interviews and surveys of psychiatric disorders, and behavioral tasks. The intervention involves a brief computerized online training that will be administered twice per week, up to 16 times total. The research intern will:

· Arrange for advertisements to be posted to recruit participants.

· Oversee recruitment and screening of participants.

· Assist with creating protocols to ensure rigorous data collection.

· Test all data collection procedures.

· Conduct troubleshooting and problem solving regarding data collection prior to and throughout the project.

· Train and supervise student and other volunteer staff who will be helping to collect data.

· Assist with data collection.

· Ensure all study staff maintain current human subjects research and other regulatory training.

· Ensure all collected data is properly organized, stored, and backed up.

· Track progress of participants as they complete the intervention.

· Assist with scoring and analysis of this data.

· Manage participant financial compensation and tracking of funds.

· Order necessary supplies for data collection.

· Assist with other study tasks as needed.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains organization of research records according to established policies and procedures
  • Assists in composing and organizing research reports and manuscripts to provide updates on unit objectives
  • Assists with conducting experiments or interviews, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting results according to established protocols
  • Tracks supply and equipment inventory levels and places replenishment orders
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for research supplies, equipment, and facilities

Department: College of Letters & Science - Psychology

Compensation: 43,500 (Final salary offer will be determined based on qualifications and experience)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, or related field
  • Experience managing/leading research projects with human participants
  • Experience with IRB and other regulatory compliance
  • Experience administering study protocols to human participants

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising and training study staff
  • Experience cleaning and processing data
