Job Summary:
Provides technical leadership in the design, integration, delivery, and operational support of applications or services, development operations (DevOps), through automation and/or infrastructure as code. Provides advanced and varied consultation on infrastructure, anticipates issues and devises resolution methodology. Provides non-routine maintenance and long-term assistance to ensure subsystems and infrastructure function together, and business needs are met. Provides guidance and training to other staff and serves as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders
Job Duties:
- Develop PowerApps and Power Automate solutions that meet business
requirements and remain flexible and agile to work with similar software
running on different platforms. - Connect data from different sources such as but not limited to Oracle, MariaDB, Amazon RedShift, Microsoft Dataverse, and SharePoint.
- Design, implement, test, troubleshoot and maintain complex business logic and workflows using Power Automate or similar software.
- Communicate with nontechnical business users to translate process requests into specific business requirements that will be used to implement the required automations and business intelligence solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for Power Automate flows or similar software as needed.
- Detail-oriented mindset and ability to troubleshoot data integrity issues
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities as communicated by The Office of Research and The Graduate School
- Job Responsibilities Serves as technical lead for one or more aspects of the system
- Analyzes requirements and communicates and coordinates with staff and internal stakeholders related to the system and/or project
- Develops, programs, and/or deploys automation workflows for deployment, configuration, and/or monitoring of systems/services
- Manages, maintains, selects, and develops automation tools and infrastructure, including security configurations
- Performs integration, migration, configuration, and security of existing
applications and services into automated infrastructures in collaboration with other campus units such as IT, HR, and finance as needed. - Serves as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders, providing guidance and training to staff

- Knowledge of JSON, PowerShell, VBScript.

- Experience with developing dashboards in Microsoft Power BI or similar platforms
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience developing solutions using the Power Apps and Power Automate
- Experience across the entire platform, PowerApps Canvas, Model Driven Apps, Power Automate flows
- Experience designing business processes and integrations between Microsoft and other applications.
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
- Experience with Azure DevOps Extensive experience using Power BI and Power Apps
- Experience with Power Automate
- Experience with M, DAX and SQL.
- Experience with ETL design, analytics and reporting
- Experience with developing and using data models
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs
- Experience with data development and reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI
- Experience with design, development and support of easy-to-understand data visualizations
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarization with data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques.

The office of Information Technology and Assessment (ITA)
Supports the mission of the UWM Office of Research and the Graduate School. The Graduate School is an administrative unit that supports a wide range of functions related to graduate education across UWM including admissions, graduation, and various other functions related to graduate education. The Office of Research supports the broad campus research mission, including compliance, extramural funding administration, strategic research planning, and a range of internal programs providing direct support to faculty and staff members, post-doctoral researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students engaged in research activity.
The Graduate School
The Graduate School is an administrative office that supports a wide range of functions related to graduate education across UWM.
- Manages graduate student admissions, matriculation, and graduation
- Manages processing of cases of graduate student academic misconduct, dismissals, and appeals
- Supports development and implementation of campus policies governing Graduate Academic Programs and students
- Supports governance committees that develop graduate policies, review and approve curriculum, and conduct periodic program reviews
- Supports the review and awarding of fellowships managed by The Graduate School
- Supports graduate student recruitment and retention efforts
Office of Research
The Office of Research, and its staff, are responsible for central research administration, oversight of research policy and compliance, and internal research development programs. The Office is part of The Chancellors Office and includes the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Office of Undergraduate Research, as well as several research
centers.
Compensation:
The target hiring range is $88,900-$109,650. Final salary offer is contingent upon skills, knowledge, and abilities as demonstrated throughout the selection process.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computing field OR related fields
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Power Automate and the Microsoft Power Suite, OR other similar software
Evidence of 3+ years’ experience developing automated business workflows using industry standard tools. (Microsoft Power Automate, Ansible, Terraform, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in computing fields, information sciences, similar field, OR in lieu of degree evidence of 5 years of experience with Business Automation solutions.
Evidence of 4+ years’ experience developing reports and dashboards using Microsoft Automate and the Microsoft Power Apps Suite of Tools or other similar software.
Evidence of experience creating reports and dashboards using Industry Standard Tools (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI, Qlik, Salesforce, SAS, SAP)
Evidence of 3+ years' experience working in a higher education environment at a research-focused university.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required in computing or related fields.
Graduate or hire degree preferred in computing fields, information sciences, similar field
