Research Lab Tech II

Dr. Rissman's lab is looking for a Research Lab Tech II to join its research team. The laboratory is internationally recognized for research contributions in Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and other neurodegenerative disorders. The lab is also interested in developing blood-brain barrier/NVU cell-specific biomarkers and provides biomarker core service supporting USC ADRC and program project on Alzheimer’s disease. State-of-the-art imaging and cellular and molecular methods are available for studies of brain vascular and neuronal functions.
The candidate should have experience in ELISA or similar biochemical assays and experience in basic molecular techniques such as PCR and preparing samples for genotyping and Sanger sequencing.
The candidate should maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, coordinate the shipment of biofluid samples from collaborators, maintain an up-to-date inventory of biofluid samples, perform data analysis, and comply with all laboratory safety protocols.
The candidate will conduct experiments under the supervision of senior lab personnel, supporting the biomarker core.
The candidate should have good communication and organizational skills.
Provides general laboratory assistance to support research activities. Conducts research experiments in accordance with laboratory and safety protocols. Performs assignments which are non-routine and vary in complexity with minimal direction. Compiles data and computes results for a variety of research procedures, tests and techniques.
The hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 - $28.12. Minimum Experience: 2 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols. Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data.
