Job Description
The Siciliano lab from the Department of Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University is seeking a self-motivated Research Assistant. Our lab research focuses on addiction and sensory neuroscience using cutting-edge technology to trace neural sensory tracts in combination with immunohistochemistry, optogenetics, in vivo fiber photometry, and behavioral pharmacology in rodents.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage mouse colonies (experience with rodent colony management preferred)
● Experience with rodent behavior is preferred
● Experience with programmable microprocessors is a plus.
● Maintain laboratory inventories and ensure proper record-keeping
● Prepare reagents and other laboratory materials as needed
● Take initiative in delivering accurate results on time
● Collaborate and respond effectively to team needs
● Communicate clearly with lab members to ensure smooth workflow
● Trains new trainees and staff
● Self-motivation with a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability is necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
