Job Description
The Data Engineer will develop, deploy, manage, and maintain analytic data products within MS SQL Server, Snowflake, AWS, or other environments using SQL, Python, and Tableau. This role involves data collection, analysis, processing of big data, and building predictive models and analytic data solutions, including deployment and maintenance. The position will also support legacy database applications and related systems, requiring expertise in MS SQL Server, OLAP (SSAS), and ETL processes (SSIS).
To be successful, the candidate should have a strong understanding of data processing, data science workflows, database management, and analytical problem-solving. Experience as a SQL developer, administrator, or operator is essential.
Responsibilities
About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role
- Refine and improve analytic products and services, including Connex segmentation and predictive modeling.
- Manage and implement periodic database updates to key datasets (e.g., Simmons/MRI Survey).
- Implement new analytic product updates and integrations into production systems.
- Load, process, and analyze large datasets in Snowflake, SQL Server, and AWS environments.
- Support analytic projects and predictive modeling initiatives.
- Develop and refine interactive dashboards using Tableau and other reporting tools.
- Execute complex SQL queries for data extracts and list fulfillment.
- Automate analytic data processes (data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and deployment).
- Build, deploy, and manage predictive models following best practices for model lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to define and deliver solutions.
- Manage and administer MS SQL Server databases and OLAP applications.
- Maintain and support database applications and provide technical assistance.
- Fulfill ad hoc data requests and manage periodic operational processes.
Qualifications
About You and How You Can Excel in this Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience, with 3+ years in data engineering or analytics.
- Strong SQL proficiency; Python experience preferred.
- Experience with MS SQL Server (T-SQL, SSAS, SSIS) and Snowflake.
- Familiarity with ETL, data wrangling, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Experience applying machine learning or predictive analytics to data solutions is a plus.
- Knowledge of Tableau, Excel, or Power BI for data visualization.
- Experience with data quality tools (address cleaning, deduplication, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Experience working in agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments is a plus.
