Data Engineer II
Job Description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining efficient, scalable data pipelines and contributing to the design and development of our data architecture. This role requires strong analytical thinking, good programming skills, and a passion for working with large and complex datasets.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reliable and scalable data pipelines.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements to technical specifications and coded data pipelines.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across the organization.
- Document data workflows, processes, and technical specifications.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline.
- Work with structured and unstructured data from a variety of data stores, such as data lakes, relational database management systems, and/or data warehouses.
- Write complex SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Work with tools, languages, data processing frameworks, and databases such Python for scripting and data processing, MySQL or similar relational database systems.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake data warehouse.
- Experience with Apache Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with Aerospike or other high-performance NoSQL databases.
- Experience handling large-scale datasets (tens of terabytes or more).
- Experience with CloudFormation or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Familiarity with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Matillion or other ETL/ELT tools.
