Position Summary

The Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SSP) team drives value from Verisk’s supplier relationships, ensuring internal stakeholders have the goods and services they need to meet business objectives. This role is fundamental to delivering the SSP category management strategy.

This role supports all aspects of strategic sourcing, from category assessment and planning, vendor due diligence, RFx, negotiations, contracting and participation in vendor management activities across the IT Category valued at approximately $450 million annually. However, the role will focus on Software.

Verisk is hiring a Full-Time Strategic Sourcing Specialist for our Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Team in Cracow, Poland. If you have a strong desire for growth in procurement, this could be an excellent opportunity for you. We look forward to your application!
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with business and/or analytical focus or equivalent category related experience
  • 3+ years strategic sourcing experience in IT area with strong software focus
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on quality assurance and problem solving capabilities
  • Experience of both strategic and operational procurement implementations with focus on development and execution of category strategy
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders at senior levels
  • Track record of cost control & risk mitigation
  • Experience working in a global organization.

  • Support the Senior IT Category Manager in the delivery of global category plans and strategies across the Software category
  • Be involved in multiple cross-functional teams executing major category initiatives
  • Delivery of maximum value across suppliers for the category in question – particularly our strategic resellers
  • Contribute to compliance tracking of category specific policies and performance metrics
  • Support management of excellent partnerships with key budget owners, Product Area/Functional stakeholders, and strategic suppliers
  • Develop total cost of ownership models for category and ensure alignment of category plans and strategies to business priorities/functional objectives
  • Drive category level initiatives to realize benefits for procurement activities, improving existing processes and executing actions to increase diversity
  • Interpret and draft contracts.
