The Excess and Reinsurance (E&R) division of the Underwriting Solutions unit of Verisk Analytics is looking for an Statistical Analyst (Actuarial Model Specialist), to assist in the refactoring and re-platforming of various industry standard products.

You will be responsible for enhancing the Excess and Reinsurance pricing tools, demonstrating statistical, actuarial and business value to stakeholders, and updating, researching, and deploying of products. In this role, you will be collaborating with not just members of the E&R team, but various other teams across the organization to support the products.

A successful candidate will possess excellent statistics, programming and technical skills, with careful attention to detail and insight to discover ways to improve, enhance, and optimize the performance of this suite of products.

The Excess and Reinsurance (E&R) division of the Underwriting Solutions unit of Verisk Analytics is looking for an Statistical Analyst (Actuarial Model Specialist), to assist in the refactoring and re-platforming of various industry standard products.

Required

  • Fluency in English is required
  • A strong academic background in Statistics/Applied Mathematics is required (mixed exponential distributions etc.)
  • At least 2 years of work experience, especially related to Statistics/Applied Mathematics/Analytical Research
  • Strong Excel skills are required, along with the ability to learn programming languages. Prior experience with R, Python and/or SAS are a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, listening and teamwork skills, and effective summarization skills
  • Detail-oriented technical aptitude with strong logical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent organization/planning skills
  • Willingness to work as a full-time employee from Cracow city-center based office in a hybrid model.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Property-Casualty Insurance coverages, data, and/or actuarial methodologies.

  • Interpret actuarial/statistical models, communicate their assumptions and results effectively, and translate them into clear, actionable insights
  • Explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Collaboration: work with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and identify areas for improvement
  • Progress reporting on the progress of software development.
