As a Senior Research Engineer, you will design and develop large-scale probabilistic flood hazard models, working at the intersection of hydrology, hydraulics, climate science, and software engineering. You will collaborate with meteorologists, climate scientists, statisticians, actuaries, and software engineers to deliver cutting-edge flood risk assessment solutions.
Your contributions will directly support decision-making for insurers managing flood risk portfolios across multiple geographies.

Education:
Master’s or PhD in Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, Hydraulics, or a related field
Experience:
4+ years of relevant industry or research experience
Technical Skills:
Strong fundamentals in stochastic hydrology, catchment hydrology, and open channel flow
Experience with probabilistic modeling frameworks (Monte Carlo simulations)
Knowledge of computational hydrodynamics and numerical PDE solving
Experience in climate change analytics
Hands-on experience with Machine Learning techniques
Advanced proficiency in R, Python, SQL, or MATLAB
Experience working with GIS tools (preferably ArcGIS)
Experience debugging C++/C# in Visual Studio

Ability to analyze complex datasets critically
Strong problem-solving and independent working ability
Effective communication, presentation, and report-writing skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic team environment
Design, develop, and enhance probabilistic hydrologic and hydraulic model components
Implement stochastic and catchment hydrology frameworks within Monte Carlo simulations
Develop large-scale flood hazard maps using geomorphological and terrain analysis principles
Apply computational hydrodynamics techniques, including numerical solutions of PDEs
Analyze and integrate hydrological, geophysical, and climate data from diverse sources
Contribute to climate change analytics and scenario modeling
Collaborate cross-functionally with scientists, engineers, and actuaries
Debug and improve modeling code (C++ / C#) within development environments
Document research findings and contribute to technical reports and publications
